A vibrant, refreshing strawberry maple cocktail with fresh lemon and sparkling water—ready in just 5 minutes for a sophisticated alcohol-free drink that looks and tastes like a craft cocktail.
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 5 minutes | Servings: 2
Ingredients
- 4 oz fresh strawberries, hulled and halved (deeply red and fragrant—smell before buying)
- 2 oz pure maple syrup (about 3 tablespoons—real maple syrup only)
- 2 oz fresh lemon juice (from about 1.5 lemons—fresh is absolutely essential)
- 8 oz sparkling water (plain, unflavored for best results)
- Ice cubes (large cubes melt slower and dilute less)
- Fresh strawberry for garnish
Instructions
- Hull and halve your fresh strawberries—no need for perfect cuts since they’re getting blended. Make sure they’re fragrant and deeply colored for the most vibrant drink.
- In your blender, combine the strawberries, pure maple syrup, and fresh lemon juice. Blend until completely smooth, about 20-30 seconds. Taste and adjust—add more lemon if too sweet, more maple if too tart.
- Optional but impressive: strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds for a completely smooth, clear drink. Use the back of a spoon to press through all the liquid.
- Fill two glasses generously with ice cubes. Pour the strawberry maple mixture equally over the ice in each glass.
- Slowly top each glass with sparkling water, pouring down the side of the glass to preserve the bubbles. You’ll see a gorgeous gradation of color form.
- Give each drink the gentlest possible stir—just once or twice to barely combine without killing the fizz. Garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry on the rim.
- Serve immediately while cold and bubbly. These don’t wait well—the ice melts and bubbles escape, so drink up!

Notes:
- Seriously, use real pure maple syrup—artificial pancake syrup tastes completely different
- Fresh lemon juice is non-negotiable—bottled tastes flat and chemical in a drink this simple
- Pour sparkling water down the glass side and barely stir to preserve maximum fizz
- Peak season strawberries make all the difference—pale, flavorless berries make a pale, flavorless drink
- Serve immediately—these lose their magic as ice melts and bubbles escape
Storage Tips:
- Blended strawberry mixture keeps refrigerated for up to 24 hours
- Keep mixture and sparkling water separate until serving
- Don’t make assembled drinks ahead—they go flat and watery
- Freeze blended mixture in ice cube trays for quick single-serving cocktails

What Makes This Recipe Special:
This strawberry maple cocktail elevates the simple fruit drink by using pure maple syrup instead of plain sugar, creating complexity and depth that transforms a basic berry blend into something genuinely sophisticated. The maple’s caramel and woody undertones complement strawberry’s brightness in a way that simple sweeteners never could, while fresh lemon provides the acid balance that keeps everything from tasting flat or cloying. Unlike store-bought drinks loaded with artificial flavors, this version proves that the most satisfying beverages come from combining real ingredients thoughtfully—showing that non-alcoholic drinks deserve the same careful craftsmanship as any craft cocktail.
